About Us
The S.W.A.T. Team assists Undergraduate and Graduate students in the College of Engineering, students minoring in Engineering, and students taking at least one Engineering course in the current semester.
We can assist with the following:
- Hardware and Software Diagnostics
- Software Installation
- Operating System Installation
- Parallels Installations for Mac
- Driver Issues
- Virus Removal
- Networking Issues
This is a FREE service provided to all Engineering students, regardless of where you purchased your computer! We can be reached via phone, email, or our request help option at the side of the page for support.
- In-person service is available during our Support Hours, no appointment necessary
- Virtual/remote service is available by emailing swat@vt.edu to schedule a Zoom meeting
In the event your computer needs to be repaired, the S.W.A.T. Office can also provide a loaner laptop for up to 3 weeks!
- Free for all Undergraduate and Graduate Engineering Students (requires proof of repair or replacement)
- It does not matter where you purchased your computer, you are still eligible for the Loaner Program as an Engineering Student
- Proof of repair or replacement is required in order to receive a loaner computer
- Students minoring in Engineering or taking an Engineering course must present documentation in person regarding the minor or course.
Engineering Faculty Members may request a loaner computer for themselves or for their GTA/GRA's through our office. More information on our loaning policies can be found on our Laptop Loaning Policy Page.
